My wife and I recently moved from Boise ID to Sierra Vista Arizona, we love the climate change and look forward to much warmer winters. We enjoy many outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, taking walks and playing in the backyard with our son.
I graduated from the University of Florida College of dentistry in 2011 and then completed an advanced residency of dentistry at Baylor in Dallas Texas. Since graduating I have practiced dentistry in Austin Texas and Boise Idaho. I was very excited when Dr. Hanes and Dr. Schrader gave me the opportunity to purchase their practice in Sierra Vista, AZ. My wife was born and raised in Snowflake Arizona and we were looking for an opportunity to purchase a practice in southern Arizona. We are very excited to be a part of the Sierra Vista community.
I have wanted to a dentist for as long as I can remember, I love helping patients resolve dental issues that cause pain and discomfort. Seeing a patient leave happy and pain free is very important to me and brings me a great sense of accomplishment. I invite you to come by and meet our professional and experienced team, I assure you, we will take good care of you at Pueblo del Sol Dental.
I was born and raised in Colorado and was fortunate to have spent most of that time in or near the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I have family from all over the Southwest so no matter where I am it feels like home. My wife is my best friend and we have five great children. I love participating in their various activities and sharing their achievements as I watch them grow into unique individuals. Spending time with my family is my favorite activity. We enjoy doing things outside, working on projects and watching fun videos together. My faith is very important to me and I enjoy being involved at various levels within the church.
I had the privilege of receiving my dental training from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. While in school I took advantage of as many outreach opportunities as I could which included working with geriatric and special needs adults, community dental clinics, pediatric dentistry, and a mission trip to provide dental services to orphans in Cambodia.
I love helping others and dentistry has afforded me with many great opportunities to provide meaningful services. I believe that patient education and prevention are key aspects of appropriate oral care. I enjoy building relationships with my patients. I am committed to taking the time to make sure my patients are as comfortable as possible and in doing my best work at each dental visit.
I grew up in Tucson. My father was in the military and was transferred to Wiesbaden, Germany where I attended high school. This experience allowed me to travel extensively throughout Europe. Following graduation, I returned to Tucson and graduated from the Pima College Dental Assistant program in 1975.
I worked for a dental office in Hawaii and later in California where I received my RDA and worked for an endodontics for six years. In 1986, my husband, two children and I moved to Sierra Vista where I started working part-time with Dr. Schrader at his previous location. I became full-time when the new office was built and Dr Hanes joined the team.
As an assistant for a number of years, I gained valuable knowledge and experience while getting to know our patients. To advance my career, I moved to the business office. Eventually, with my experience as an assistant and my understanding of the business side, I became the office manager.
I thoroughly enjoy working with our patients and feel my experience as both an assistant and office manager, have given me invaluable knowledge that makes our patients visits a pleasant one.
When not working, I still like to travel. I enjoy outdoor activities and spoiling my two granddaughters.
I was born and raised in Arizona and have been in Sierra Vista since 1985. I am married with three amazing children and two beautiful granddaughters. My husband and I have a passion for cars and enjoy everything from off roading to racing. I am an artist; in fact, some of my artwork can be seen hanging in the office. I’m also an eccentric dog mom and have always been an advocate for animal rescue. I love to spend my weekends outdoors, often camping and quading with my family.
My interest in dental hygiene was cultivated and encouraged by my uncle who was a dentist in Tucson (now retired). I attended Pima Community College in Tucson and graduated with honors in 2007. I have been working for this practice ever since. I was drawn to this dentistry office originally because of the warm and inviting atmosphere and a commitment to delivering the highest quality of patient care. After ten years of being with this amazing practice, I am thrilled to be part of the transition to Pueblo del Sol Dental, with Dr. Israelsen and Dr. Trujillo, knowing the same standards of excellence will continue.
“I love to work with people and am blessed with a career that allows me to take care of and connect with every patient. I always put my heart into my work and this practice has continually been a perfect fit for me because of the level of care from the entire team. We have truly created a dental family.”
I have lived in Sierra Vista since 2008 and began working for the practice in 2009. Since growing up in Ohio, I quickly learned to love all the beauty of what Arizona has to offer, mostly the amazing weather. I enjoy spending my free time outdoors and traveling, hiking and exploring new places whenever possible. I also love to practice yoga and meditation. I believe being able to relax the mind is a valuable skill in our busy world. Those who know me well also know my appreciation for all things sports. Go Bucks!
I graduated in 2008 with my Dental Hygiene degree and minor in Biology from Armstrong State University (formerly Armstrong Atlantic State University), in Savannah, GA. Being able to use my skills and knowledge to the fullest with a great dental practice has been extremely rewarding. I believe the essence of outstanding dental care is building relationships with patients and their families based on trust and open communication. I aim to partner with my patients to understand and solve their dental issues, and more importantly, to prevent problems through early diagnosis and patient education.
“Working in a practice where patient care and comfort is the top priority makes everybody’s day so pleasant, patient and clinician alike. Going to work every day and seeing so many smiles and happy patients makes my job easy!”
I was raised here in Sierra Vista, graduated from Buena in 2002. After high school I moved away for a few years to join my husband on his Army adventures and attend college. We’ve been back in Sierra Vista now for two years. I love the small town feel and we’ve decided it’s the best place for us to raise our kids.

I grew up in San Diego, California but have called Tucson home for the past 20 years. I have learned to love Tucson and all it has to offer. I am dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle so when I am not working you can find me on a trail, at the gym, or riding a bike. I have to admit my heart still belongs to San Diego and I try to get back whenever I can.
I have been working in dentistry for over 20 years. My career began as a Dental Assistant. I worked with a Doctor in Tucson for 14 years.

I was born and raised in Reno, NV. My twin sister and I are the youngest of 9 children so there was always something going on at home. I moved to AZ in 1997 and fell in love with the weather here. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors (camping, boating, 4-wheeling) and spending time with our grown children and 3 grandchildren.
After working as a customer service representative, dispatcher and office manager in the utility industry and Emergency Medical Technician in my younger years, I decided to get my feet wet in the Dental field and found my passion.
I graduated from Pima Medical Institute and joined forces with Dr Hanes, 15 years later I’m still in love with Dentistry! I adore all of our patients and the team in this office has become more like family. It’s been a rewarding career change and I have met some very wonderful people along the way.
My name is Nicole Nix and I have lived in Sierra Vista for 33 years. I was born in Seoul, South Korea. My father was in the Army and when he retired my parents decided to stay here in Sierra Vista. I have enjoyed watching Sierra Vista change and grow over the years. I attend Calvary Chapel and I have a 21 year old son and an 18 year old daughter. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym, watching funny movies, or just simply relaxing.
I became a Dental Assistant in 2012 after attending and graduating from Horizon Health Care Institute here in Sierra Vista. I began working for Dr. Hanes in 2013. Dr. Hanes has taught me many things about dentistry, but most of all he has shown me what “patient care“ truly looks like. I feel Dr. Hanes gave me a great opportunity to really learn how to help patients and provide them with better dental care.
The number one reason why I love being a dental assistant is being able to help ease “fears” people have of the dentist. I know that the staff here at Pueblo del Sol Dental is committed to providing the best dental care in Cochise County.
I am one of five daughters who grew up on a farm in Deming, New Mexico. I graduated from Deming High School in 1974. After high school I pursued a career in the dental field and graduated with a certificate in dental assisting in 1976. I married my husband in 1980 and lived in Montana and Colorado before moving to Sierra Vista over 20 years ago. I have three grown children and eight grandchildren. I love spending time outdoors when I’m not working.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, camping and spending time at both national and state parks. I love what our state and national parks have to offer, they really display the majesty of our great state and country.
I have enjoyed being a dental assistant. I love working with our patients and helping them with their dental care. Watching a patient leave happy brings great satisfaction.
I recently moved to the area with my significant other Kyle from my hometown Ocala, Fl. I love exploring new places and being out in nature, and I’m excited to see what Arizona has to offer. I’m a big lover of cats and enjoy spending time with my feline fur child Jamie. And in my spare time I enjoy photography and doing fun restoration projects.
I became a dental assistant in 2013 after attending school at Community Care College in Tulsa, OK. Being a dental assistant has been such a rewarding career and has helped me to grow in many aspects of my life.
A few simple words that reflect who I strive to be as an individual and as a dental assistant are to “Be kinder than necessary. Live simply. Speak thoughtfully. Love generously. Care deeply.”
I am a southern Arizona native. I was born in Bisbee, went to high school in Sierra Vista at Shiloh and graduated from Calvary Christian School. I then immediately joined the workforce. In my free time, I enjoy sewing, knitting, and crocheting. I have been married since 1998. My husband and I are Arizona Cardinals football season ticket holders (Go Cards!), we love riding our bicycles around town and traveling.
I began working in the front office for Dr. Hanes and Dr. Schrader in 1994, and have seen our community, as well as the dental office, grow so much since that time. I am excited about the office’s transition to Pueblo del Sol Dental. Dr. Israelson and Dr. Trujillo are wonderful dentists, and with their leadership, we’re starting a beautiful new chapter in our dental office’s history.
“Our team at Pueblo del Sol Dental is dedicated to excellent patient care during every step of your visit.
